Casters General |
| No matter whether your
need is in your home, garage, shop or work place, casters are
guaranteed to make your job easier. Casters are designed for
many different applications so you can always be assured that
when you need to move something quickly and efficiently there
will always be a caster that will help you accomplish that particular
job. |

|
| Industrial Casters |
| Industrial casters are
most generally used in you garage or shop. When appearance
is not as important as efficiency, the industrial caster is
a good option to look at using. Industrial casters are available
in four different attachment styles. Most commonly used is
the plate caster but they are also available in threaded stem,
grip ring and hollow king pin attachments. Wheel compounds
and size dictates the overall capacity of an industrial caster.
These casters generally range from 100 lb. capacity each to
over 4000 lb. capacity each. Always remember the softer the
wheel compound, the lower the capacity, the harder the wheel
compound, the higher you load capacity is. |

Threaded Stem Casters |
| Sometimes in caster applications,
a plate attachment just will not work. Many times a threaded
stem caster is your next best option. These casters generally
have a lower load capacity because the weight distribution
is not spread out over the entire plate but is limited to
the size of threaded stem on your particular caster. Generally
threaded stem casters carry a load capacity of anywhere from
50 lbs. to 500 lbs. Wheel sizes range from 2 inch in diameter
up to 6 inch in diameter. Once again there are many different
wheel compounds. Available, including soft and hard rubber,
polyurethane, thermoplastic, and more. The threaded stem diameter
range from ¼ inch in diameter over 1 inch in diameter. |

Grip Ring Stem Casters
|
| Grip ring stem casters
are most generally but not always found in light duty, home
or office use such as office chairs, rolling tables or light
duty carts. Grip ring stem casters generally have a lighter
load capacity, which generally range from 50 lbs. to 250 lbs.
Wheel diameters are available from 2 inch in diameter up to
6 inch in diameter. Grip ring stem sizes most commonly used
are 3/8 inch diameter, 3/8 inch diameter & 7/8 inch diameter.
The grip ring stem has a compression ring which when placed
in tubing compresses to hold the caster in place. |

Glides
|
| Glides are available
in many different sizes and styles, as there are many different
applications that can be used. Whether you are trying to protect
your floor, level your piece of equipment or stabilized your
table, you can be assured there is always a glide that will
accomplish your needs. Threaded stem glides are available
with a stem as small as ¼ inch in diameter up to over ½ inch
in diameter and glide bases from ½ inch in diameter
up to over 2 inches in diameter. If trying to stabilize a
piece of equipment you may want to use a glide with a rubber
base that will allow it to grip to the floor. If floor protection
is your concern, nickel plate bases are designed to eliminate
scratching and marring of your hardwood or tile floors. |
